I'm the ghost of Dmitri Mendeleev. I came back from my rest to clear up some confusion with the re-invented periodic table. Originally I ordered the elements in order of their relative atomic mass, which gave me problems. Henery Mosley figured out that atomic mass ordering them from their atomic mass number was easier to understand.
January 16th, 1907
My age is 72 and I'm in Saint Petersburg. This will most likley be my last post as I've fallen ill to influenza (the flu). I do wish to continue posting my life and discoverys; Though even if i wasn't sick, I'm getting old. I want to say goodbye to my viewers now incase I don't get the chance to later. Thank you for reading about my life and discoverys.

I wrote facts about the elements on individual paper cards. On these cards, I wrote information such as the elements' melting points, densities, colors, atomic masses, and bonding powers. Once my cards were made, I tried arranging them in various ways. Finally, I noticed that patterns appeared when the elements were arranged in order of increasing atomic mass. One of the trends that I noticed showed that the bonding power of the elements from lithium to fluorine change in an orderly way. For example, after fluorine, the next heaviest element I knew was sodium, which has the same bonding power as lithium. Using this knowledge, I placed the card for sodium below the card for lithium. This worked well -- as I laid out cards, each element had properties similar to the elements above and below it. Arranging the elements by increasing atomic mass left three blank spaces in the table. Despite this development, however, I boldly proposed that these blank spaces would be filled by elements that had not yet been discovered.

After turning St. Petersburg into a chemistry research center, I began working on a table full of all the known elements. I looked at many pieces of evidence and made an important observation, that some elements have similar chemical and physical properties. My hunch was that these similarities were the key to unlocking the hidden pattern of the elements. I then embarked on the tedious task of organizing all the known information for every element to help me decipher the pattern.

April 27 1862
I successfully graduated from the Pedagogical Institute. After graduation, I got engaged to Feozva Nikitichna Leshcheva the love of my life, just a few weeks ago on the 4th of April. We married just a few weeks later on this day at Nikolaev Engineering College's church in Saint Petersburg. I just recently became Professor of Chemistry at the Saint Petersburg Technological Institute and Saint Petersburg State University. My plans are to transform Saint Petersburg into an internationally recognized center for chemistry research.

My name is Dmitri Mendeleev, and this is my first post on my new blog. My father had just passed away and my mothers shop was burned down by an unknown fire, after all this, I attended the Gymnasium in Tobolsk. My Family was now poor and we relocated in St. Petersburg where I entered the Main Pedagogical Institute. My plan was to Graduate from the Pedagogical Institute.
